HOUNDSTOOTH IS THE CHIC PATTERN YOU NEED FOR WINTER 2025

Happy Fall, little fashionistas, and welcome to this years hottest (coziest) pattern: Houndstooth. I say that while recognizing that it has always (and will always) be around because of it’s classic, sophisticated, style. But this year we’re seeing houndstooth EVERYWHERE; I’m talking fuzzy hats, sweater vests, stunning purses, chic gloves, and even dainty bow socks (seriously!)

This past year, and honestly throughout the history of this blog, I’ve focused on purchasing only things I need or really, really want. And houndstooth is no different. Below I rounded up my favorite items, but PLEASE don’t go trigger happy and purchase everything on my list. The beauty of this pattern is how versatile and yet bold it can be. Therefore, my rule of thumb is usually just one piece – max two – when styling this pattern. Let whatever piece you choose be *the* statement piece of the outfit. I love mixing reds and burgundy with this pattern, as well as layering solid neutrals with it. Outfit ideas below!

MY FAVORITE HOUNDSTOOTH ITEMS

1. Sweater Vest: Love this chic sweater vest from amazon! It’s amazing quality, under $25, and plenty of room to layer. Order a size up if you want it to be longer. I own a large, I’m 5’7 and it covers my butt – perfect with leggings!
2. Winter Gloves: Chic and oh so cute, what else is there to say?
3. Beanie Hat: This would be SO perfect with a ski suit, going down the slopes.
4. Oversized Cardigan: Love this paired with leggings for a more relaxed look or outfit around the house
5. YSL Crossbody Bag: I love the YSL brand but sometimes their quilted bags are questionable quality. This gorgeous bag is made with better materials and a timeless design.
6. Bow Detail Socks: Would be so cute with a nap dress and heels!
7. Structured Blazer: I love this to pair with black or white jeans and some mules for a sophisticated, but easy, look.
8. Color Block Sweater: Could wear with pants as shown, or tucked into a short black skirt for a fun winter date outfit
9. Chic Bag: Adding to cart now. Or snag THIS ONE for a brown moment.
10. Chanel Inspired Jacket: Such a statement piece to throw over black jeans and a white t to instantly elevate it for a very ~chanel~ feeling. BONUS FOR YOUR MINI ME cute kids houndstooth jacket, or for your adorable baby.
