It’s that time of year — you know, the one where you drop serious $$ on holiday decor so it can feel cozy AF and all ~fall~ inside your home.
I used to justify purchasing more expensive holiday decor because I’d reuse it every year, but in the last couple of years I’ve found myself wanting to change the holiday vibe. One year I did vintage christmas, another I went glam with it, and last year it had more of a hygge vibe.
This year I’ve been into the modern farmhouse aesthetic & did NOT want to spend a fortune. Luckily, I found some major deals at Walmart (I got my AMAZING fake tree there last year — we’ll talk about that later — and knew they had some super cute decor for affordable prices.) Check out my style guide for modern farmhouse holiday decor & links to my fave pieces below.
MODERN FARMHOUSE HOLIDAY STYLE GUIDE:
use plaids as a fun pop, but don’t over do it. Make sure your pops of plaid are similar shade & color tones and don’t place too many plaid pieces near each other when styling.
for things like candle holders, table centerpieces, and dinnerware, be sure to mix in modern elements. I’ve particularly liked sleek matte gold & matte black for added touches around the house
don’t be afraid to bring the outdoors in! I think the coziest touches for modern farmhouse holiday decor come in the form of faux fur throws, pillows & skin rugs. Plus, an added subtle touch of deer or antlers is always cute!
