10 PROVEN POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS FOR A HAPPIER START TO YOUR MORNING

10 positive affirmations

As a person who has struggled through rollercoasters of emotions (hello, postpartum baby blues!) I can tell you that mediation and mindset are incredible mood-changers. Often times talking our way into a happier headspace truly does change how we feel for the better. However, I also know firsthand how hard it can be to take those first steps towards positive thinking. And that’s why I’ve made the ultimate list of positive affirmations for a happier start to your morning. Sure, maybe some of them are cliche or corny or ~basic~… but that doesn’t make them any less true. Sometimes all you need is a stranger on the internet telling you you’re doing a really fucking great job.

And you are.

One technique that I also think is helpful as you read through the images, is the 4-7-8 breathing technique. If you’re not familiar, this is how the breathing works: Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, hold the breath for 7 seconds, and breathe out through your mouth for 8 seconds. For these morning affirmations, try doing this technique between each photo + affirmation. If you’re new to breathing techniques, you can follow the same steps as above, but in 4 second intervals for each. You can read more about this breathing technique here.

Remember, just reading this list means you’ve taken the steps to have a happier morning. You’re doing your best.
