If you’re looking for affordable holiday home decor, target is the ONLY store you need to shop! I know, I know, that’s a bold statement. There are lots of stores that have great holiday decor, but there’s 7 reasons that target’s holiday home decor stands out. I’ll be digging into those major reasons below! I’ll also be rounding up my favorite items for thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and winter in general.
I do also want to note that some of the links throughout this article are affiliate links. This means I may make a small commission if you shop through them. As always, thank you so much for supporting my little corner of the interwebs – it means a lot!
7 REASONS YOU NEED TO SHOP TARGET HOLIDAY HOME DECOR
- IT’S AFFORDABLE: Holiday home decor can add up really fast. I know because I once accidentally spent $500 holiday shopping at Macy’s. Don’t get me wrong, Target items can definitely add up too. However, they run such good deals it’s easy to stay under budget. Plus their dollar spot is fire.
- THEY HAVE COLLECTIONS FROM YOUR FAVORITE INTERIOR DECORATORS: If you don’t have a ~holiday vision~ this is probably a huge selling point for you. Because they have lines by our favorite home designers like Hearth & Hand by Chip + Joanna Gaines and the holiday collab with Studio McGee, it’s style you know you can trust. You don’t have to think about how you’d style them or if they’re cute pieces. They already have the stamp of approval.
- YOU CAN SHOP BY ROOM: Another huge game-changer. Target has gotten really good with rounding up holiday home decor by room and use. You can shop holiday kitchen items, holiday living room decor here and here, and holiday entertaining. They show you which pieces you can mix and match and how to style them in your home. It’s truly one of the perks of shopping your holiday home decor through Target; they basically style your home for you! Plus if you search #targethome or #targetholiday on instagram or pinterest you’ll find tons of inspo.
- IT’S A ONE STOP SHOP FOR ALL YOUR HOLIDAY NEEDS: This goes without saying, but when you go to Target for one thing, you’re going to leave with 76. It’s just science. So instead of fighting it, I say we embrace it. By doing our holiday home decor shopping at Target it also means we can shop for everything else we need. Dinnerware for hosting Thanksgiving, makeup for our holiday parties, and jammies for Christmas morning. All in one glorious place.
- IT NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE: This might be my #1 reason I shop at Target. The items are quality, and will definitely last for many holiday seasons to come. Which is why it’s important that they look trendy and modern for all the years you’ll display them. Target style is a neutral type of trendy that remains timeless.
- IT’S CHIC: Kind of what I mentioned above. Because target holiday home decor is neutral-trendy (as I like to call it), it has a certain chicness to it. A lot of the pieces look like they cost A LOT more than the actual price tag. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to peoples homes asking about their home decor just for them to respond “it’s Target!”
- MANY PIECES CAN TRANSITION TO OTHER SEASONS: As a person who lives in an NYC apartment, this one is HUGE for me. I love target holiday home decor because it can easily blend into your every day decor once the holidays are over. Sure, the tree might need to be packed up, but reuse that pampas grass in the living room! Display that ‘come in, it’s cozy!’ mat until April when temps ~finally~ hit the 60s. That chic throw blanket? Perfect for the guest bedroom.
BUT WAIT! IT’S STILL FALL…
There are so many gorgeous holiday pieces this year at such a great price point that I actually might consider decorating before halloween even comes (ha!) However, for those of you that want to soak in the fall cozy vibes that much longer (don’t blame you!) I have some great fall content. You can check out my blog post on how to style your bedroom for max fall (and winter!) coziness here. I’m also going to link some fall home decor inspo below; many of these pieces are very neutral and will transition great into other seasons.
